Due to the ongoing lockdown restrictions, and in order to ensure everyone can be kept safe, the decision has been taken to postpone CEO Sleepout UK until 2021. The new date will be 22 March 2021.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has shown their support so far and a BIG thank you to all our supporters who are continuing to work hard to smash their fundraising targets on behalf of DMSF! Together we will make a difference.
Bring on 2021 – and let’s make it a record-breaker!!
Since the charity was founded in 2013, CEO Sleepout events have been held at venues across the country, including at Wembley Stadium, St James’ Park Newcastle, Old Trafford cricket ground, The Alnwick Garden and Lord’s Cricket Ground. Its events have raised more than £2.7 million to date.
It’s great news that DMSF has been selected as one of the four official charity partners of the CEO Sleepout. This level of support couldn’t come at a more crucial time for our charity. Although DMSF Chair John Russell and I are under no illusions that by sleeping out for one night goes anywhere close to a real-life experience of someone who is homeless or rough sleeping, I wanted to use this opportunity to highlight the seriousness of the issue.
We have a reputation in Greater Manchester for helping each other out and this is a perfect opportunity to do so. Your support will make such a big difference to many lives, please support us here, thank you.
I’m looking forward to the humbling experience of giving up my home comforts for one-night to raise funds that I believe will make a real difference. I appreciate that one night’s sleepout doesn’t do justice to the difficulties of homelessness in the city, but the point is to raise awareness and that’s what I hope to do.
