Coronavirus Event Notice
Updated: 31 March 2020, 14:00
The Diane Modahl Sports Foundation 2020 Event Programme has been officially postponed until 2021 in light of the current coronavirus pandemic. This includes the following events:
- DMSF Charity Golf Day – 8 May 2020
- DMSF Graduation 2020 – 26 June 2020
- City of Champions Gala Dinner & Awards 2020 – 8 October 2020
These decisions are difficult ones to make but, right now, it is our shared responsibility to prioritise the health of our local communities by working together to follow the UK Government guidelines. We are currently liaising with event organisers and venues to reschedule our events calendar as applicable, for 2021.
DMSF recognise the seriousness of the current COVID19 (coronavirus outbreak) and we take our responsibility to help slow the pandemic, and support social distancing very seriously indeed.
Further updates will be posted on the DMSF website, across our social media channels and via our monthly e.newsletter. Guests/interested parties of events that are postponed will be contacted directly by their point of contact.
Attendees should be assured that DMSF is well prepared for these types of incidents and will remain vigilant, monitoring progress on an on-going basis; reviewing the situation in the light of any emerging information surrounding the virus and the health and safety of our guests is always our number one priority.
Thank you for your continued understanding and support during these extraordinary times.
How can you support DMSF over this period?
We’re committed to being there for our young people, no matter what’s happening in the world. For the next few months DMSF will focus its support around giving to those in the most critical need and supporting our young people is of the utmost priority.
To this end we’re working hard with our partners and the local community to coordinate support for our young people; this includes access to remote training sessions, live streaming initiatives, 1:1 counselling over the phone and online, an online mentoring service and providing nutrition to the young people on our programmes via our ‘Fit & Feed’ campaign. As part of our response to the current coronavirus emergency, we have also launched a Young Person Relief Fund to help us achieve the above.
