DMSF alumni and international athlete, Aimee Pratt, who was selected to represent Great Britain and Northern Ireland at the World Athletic Championships in Doha, in September 2019, is currently focused on qualifying for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

The British Olympic Trials will be held on 21-22 June 2020 in Manchester and with the clock ticking, Aimee and DMSF Head Coach Vicente Modahl have been planning their preparations in great detail.

In January 2020 Aimee successfully completed a high altitude training camp in Ifrane, the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. In February she was due to compete in a road race in Armagh, Northern Ireland, as well as the British Indoor Championship in Glasgow, but had to pull out due to flu.

To regain her strength and get back on target for the season, Aimee and Vicente have travelled to Tenerife to train hard for three weeks and get fit, before a trip to the USA later in March and April for further high altitude training in Flagstaff, Arizona and two track competitions in Los Angeles.

Aimee said: “Last year I was so happy to reach the World Championship in Doha. This year I have two championships to prepare for; the Olympic Games in Tokyo and the European Championship later in August in Paris.

“Over the holidays I had an injury and flu so I missed out on a lot of training in December and January. I am so grateful that Diane, my coach Vicente, and King Street Wealth Management have enabled and funded the training camp in Tenerife. It means I can get back to strength and back on target to reach the Olympic Games this summer.”

Aimee was discovered by DMSF aged 13 (now aged 22) and has since been focused and committed to competing at top-level competitions in athletics.
