Bryggen Sports Invitational meeting on Saturday 13 February at the Manchester Regional Arena, provided the stage for fast times and PBs galore in Manchester, as athletes seized the chance to compete and reach European standards.

Competing in the women’s 3000m DMSF young person and Olympic hopeful Aimee Pratt (pictured right) ran an excellent competitive race.

Staying with the leaders throughout, to finish strongly in 9 minutes 02 seconds, only 2 seconds off the European qualifying standard with a very tough last 300m. A personal best.

A BIG thank you to our committed, hard working DMSF Sports Leader volunteers (pictured below) who helped make the Bryggen Sports Invitational in partnership with Manchester Active, so successful on Saturday 13 February. What a day…. 11 European Champs Indoor Qualifications + 7 PBs = 1 VERY good day indeed.
