The World Academy of Sport (WAoS) recently announced three individuals who have been shortlisted to be considered for its inaugural ‘International Award for Excellence in Sports Education’, which will be presented at the Manchester Sports Awards in October 2019. And one of them is DMSF’s very own Rebekah ‘Bex’ Wilson.

This Award celebrates the great work being done across the industry in the sports education space, at either the grassroots or high-performance level.

Bex has been nominated alongside Ghizela Enslin, Coaches Manager at Tennis South Africa and Tan Teck Hock, Principal at Singapore Sports School.

All three shortlisted nominees are operating at the regional development/national level in their sports organisations and have been earmarked for upcoming success.

Submissions from the three nominees (in the form of written questionnaires and short videos highlighting their work) will now be assessed by a panel of esteemed industry judges from WAoS’ International Advisory Board.

“DMSF Programme Manager Bex said: “It is a proud moment for DMSF to be recognised on an international scale. I work hard to make a difference to the lives of young people growing up and to be recognised in this way is a brilliant thank you for the work we all do”.

Good luck Bex, Team DMSF is rooting for you and to us you’re already a winner!

UPDATE! We’re delighted to reveal that Bex was announced as the WINNER of the ‘WAoS International Award for Excellence in Sports Education’ at Saturday night’s Greater Manchester Sports Awards 2019. WELL DONE BEX, we couldn’t be prouder. You can read a full review of the Awards and see images in our November newsletter.
